The Festival Village at the Mercy Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K is a great way for interested businesses and organizations to reach thousands of women and their families and friends. A wildly successful addition to the BWC experience, over the years our Festival Village has become the perfect place for runners to gather pre-race and celebrate post-race.

Yoga with Annie Truax from Free to Breathe

Stretch-it-out post-race with a complimentary outdoor yoga class led by Free to Breathe's Annie Truax. This 45 minute, all-levels class will start around 9:30am. Bring a mat and grab your spot post-race on the pavement surrounding the stage.

Meet your Instructor: Annie Truax

Local Baltimore barre instructor, runner, and healthy living advocate, Annie completed her 200RYT with Lindsay Lusignea of red lila yoga in the summer of 2016. After incorporating weekly power vinyasa classes into her marathon training plans, she started to find herself on the mat for more than just the benefits of stretching and loosening her hips after a long run, and wholeheartedly believes in the benefit yoga can have in creating a lifetime of strong, safe running. Annie strives to make yoga accessible (and possibly even fun!) to every body, and looks forward to sharing the joy she has found in her own practice with students of all levels. When Annie isn’t on her mat, she is hard at work bringing the second annual Baltimore Free to Breathe Team Yoga Challenge to life, and speaking out against lung cancer.

About Free to Breathe

Free to Breathe is a partnership of lung cancer survivors, advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry leaders. And we are united in the belief that every person with lung cancer deserves a cure. Our mission is to ensure surviving lung cancer is the expectation, not the exception and our goal is to double lung cancer survival by 2022. Free to Breathe hosts fundraising events across the nation, and here in Baltimore we look forward to hosting the 2nd annual Baltimore Free to Breathe Team Yoga Challenge, returning to the Maryland Zoo on Sunday, August 20th.
